Heritage
According to ancient folklore, Kerala was created by the wrath of an angry sage. Legend has it that the sage, Parasurama threw his axe into the sea when Lord Vishnu refused to grant him his request and Kerala arose from the spot where his axe fell. A haven of spice, the seat of Ayurvedic learning and practice, the shores where St. Thomas, the apostle set foot, home to several foreign influences including the Dutch, French, Portuguese, British, Muslim etc., Kerala is steeped in history and culture. It is this rich heritage that is reflected in the cuisine, constructions and cultural influences of this land.
